Why choose the International Academy of Canine Trainers?
The International Academy of Canine Trainers is one of only three private career dog training schools in British Columbia that is registered with the PCTIA. Our curriculum is required to adhere to industry standards as well as basic education standards to ensure quality of instruction and curriculum. Tuition protection is also provided for the student who enrolls with a PCTIA registered school.
In addition, the campus is located at the Amber Cottle Canine Behavior Training Center in Delta, BC. The Training Center is a full time dog training facility. This enables students to shadow the instructor and learn as much as possible within real life training scenarios.
Our courses are designed to prepare individuals for working within the Pet Grooming and Animal Care Workers Industry. The courses are affordable and flexible. Classes are designed for the working student who needs a part-time schedule, or for students wishing to take full-time, accelerated study. Distance learning is also available via Skype in real time for most of the courses. The student can decide to take the entire Dog behavior and Training-Level 1 program, (4 Courses) or just choose the courses necessary for their educational needs.
Accelerated Courses are also available in a city of your choice in Canada or the US. (Please contact the Director for accelerated course inquiries)

Enhancing the lives of shelter dogs:
The International Academy of Canine Trainers also partners with animal shelters and humane societies by working with shelter dogs. Students may be assigned a shelter dog to work with during their course of study. This greatly enhances the life of the shelter dog and increases their chance for adoption because of the training and socializing received.
